Vintage Bazaar 2013

If you’re a fan of antiques, then maybe you’ve heard about the Brimfield Antique Show.  Started in 1959, in Brimfield, MA, it’s the largest outdoor antique show in the world.  Held 3 times a year in May, July, and September, attendees  can count on having dealers after dealers to visit.  It’s a BIG show and to be honest it could get overwhelming.

That’s why we’re so excited when we visited the Vintage Bazaar, a flea market style bazaar held twice a year on the historic Pettengill Farm in Salisbury, MA.  This farm has been in the family since 1792.  In addition to trees, shrubs, plants, they offer custom containers and even services of a landscape designer.

Given the long history of the farm, it’s fitting to hold this kind of event that brings in all the vintage goodness.  It was smaller in comparison to the Brimfield Show yet there was plenty to look at.  There was live music, food, crafts, and lots of knick knacks.  Not too much and not too little, it was just right.  The best part was that all the vendors had an eye for style.  Their presentation was enjoyable to folks who style events – us.  Did we mention that the weather turned out wonderfully?

We collected items to spruce up our future design lab.  Between the two Vintage Bazaars this year, we scored some industrial lighting pieces.  After all our future lab maybe located in the city of Lowell, a mill city where the industrial revolution took place.  See the connection there, eh?  Highlighting our location with related decor pieces is important.  If any, we’ll keep you posted on our future lab developments.

There were loads of letter signs, wooden letter presses, refinished found furniture, upcycled lamp shade frames, clothing, mason jars and the list goes on.  It’s really a place where you get to enjoy shopping weekend with family!  If you’ve never been, we hope you’d consider going next year.  It’s worth it!
